I was born premature.
I was told that at birth the tissues of my body were not yet complete.
Maybe that’s why I’ve always felt like an alien.
And this may be the reason why I continually keep searching for feeling myself in the womb
submerged in the amniotic fluid.
For 9 months we all dive in our mother’s amniotic fluid.
And did you know that liquid is chemically almost identical to ocean water?
That’s why painting underwater takes me to a state of connection and relaxation similar to the one a baby can feel inside his mother.
After all, 80% of our body is water, so the connection among my body, the sea and painting is very different from the one I feel painting in my studio.
Today we live in an absolute disconnection from nature, and are impregnated with the urban and digital.
So with my work I want to make people aware of the importance of connecting with nature,
to feel the sea through a new and different experience.
The importance of being one with the ocean.
