Enrico Lomaestro was born in Bologna (Italy) in 1958.
He started to paint at 5.
From 12 to 16 he attended painting classes under the guidance of Alcide Fontanesi. There he specialized in 19th century French and Italian "En plein air" landscape painting.
After high school specializing in an architecture education, he went to the Accademia di Belle Arti in Bologna, where his teachers were Vittorio Mascalchi and Maurizio Bottarelli. In 1984 he got his degree in painting with full marks.
