Bente Christensen

I'm an Los Angeles based abstract painter with both a Theatre and TV Production Design background. Raised in the San Francisco bay area, my love for painting started at age 8, painting and drawing landscapes. During college I did tourist caricatures in Fisherman's Wharf while designing sets and costumes at the Presido Playhouse and other local theatres. I'm drawn to mid-century modern clean lines and incorporate those elements into my abstract compositions. I experiment with various techniques but am drawn to acrylics with generous layers and textures. My use of color is bold and dramatic, drawing on my theatrical experiences.
