Naomi Oyeniyi is a contemporary Nigerian artist whose creative journey has been marked by the exploration of the human psyche and the interplay between thoughts and the world they shape. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the Department of Fine and Applied Arts at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, with a specialization in painting.
Naomi's art is a fusion of personal experiences and inspirations drawn from psychology, spirituality, social-cultural dynamics, her immediate environment, and her observations of the world. Her technique involves the meticulous layering of colors using a palette knife, resulting in fractured lines that coalesce into figurative subjects. She pays attention to detail, employing deliberate brushstrokes to achieve an equilibrium between realism, impressionism, and surrealism. Her artworks serve as portals into the complex relationship between human cognition and the external world, unveiling how desires, emotions, and beliefs converge to mold our perception of reality. Her odyssey is an ongoing exploration of the interplay between ideas and their tangible manifestations. Through her art, Naomi strives to foster empathy, inspire change, and ignite dialogue.
