Wheeshan Ong

I was born and raised in Malaysia as a second-generation Chinese. Today, I live and work as an artist in the woodlands of Carinthia, Austria. Surrounded by nature and fuelled by a love for storytelling, I channel my vivid imagination into vibrant, energetic, and soulful works of art.

I began my artistic journey as an illustrator of colouring books. Over time, my focus evolved towards painting—particularly using acrylics with impasto techniques—to create textured, energetic pieces that celebrate feminine beauty and emotional depth. For me, painting is a means of illuminating the inner journey and connecting with the soul. I feel most at home depicting the feminine form, using it to capture the evanescent nature of human emotion and the ever-evolving essence of the self. In the process, I glimpse fragments of myself, and in that reflection, I find profound and abiding fulfilment.

To date, I have published one poetry and art collection book, fourteen colouring books, and collaborated with a U.K.-based colouring magazine publisher. My books have been sold worldwide and remain available through Amazon and other online platforms. I have exhibited my work in Germany, Slovenia, and Austria.
