Corinne Kruger studied Fine arts at the Gerrit Rietveld academy. Before that she studied psychology. She regularly exhibited her works after completing the study in 1999 (Retort, Eduard Planting Gallery, Art antique fair, Arti et Amicitae, Christies, Central library, Contemporary art ruhr, Salto tv). She is member of the GKF and Arti (artist).
Her work centers around digital photography, and involves staged portraits. Also she applies moving images and websites.
Her work evolves around humans and the human condition. Not the global picture but individual feelings and faults. Often grief, violence, confusion and vulnerability play a central role. Recursive themes with different faces. Lately the work concentrates around the notion of good and bad. It seems to explore the thin line between good and bad. Titles are for example the fragility of goodness or the instability of lightness. The next exhibition at the Cacao fabriek in Helmond, will be called Dominant Dormant. It will show violence and sex in women, and the vulnerability and helplessness of men in love. The actors or subjects are often depersonalised by using the same props in several photo's.
