Elena Elkina

Originally from Russia and now based in Spain for over 25 years, Elena Elkina is a self-taught oil painter with a deep passion for capturing light and atmosphere. Initially drawn to photography, she found it limiting in expressing the full depth of her artistic vision. Two years ago, she discovered painting by chance, and since then, it has become her true creative language.

Influenced by Impressionism and particularly inspired by the works of Joaquín Sorolla, she strives to bring vibrancy and emotion to her canvases. Her work evolves rapidly, reflecting a continuous exploration of color, movement, and the interplay between light and shadow.

Painting has become more than just a pursuit—it is a personal journey of discovery and expression.

In addition to being largely self-taught, Elena Elkina has expanded her skills by attending L’Atelier, a dynamic art school and creative space dedicated to artistic learning and experimentation. Through its personalized approach, she has been able to explore various techniques and further develop her artistic language.

At L’Atelier, she has participated in specialized courses in oil painting, refining her technique and deepening her understanding of composition, color, and light. The school’s collaborative environment has provided her with the opportunity to exchange ideas with other artists, broadening her creative perspective and artistic growth.
