Karen Severson was born in Victoria, British Columbia, and grew up in Victoria, Vancouver, and Vancouver Island. She presently resides in Duncan, Vancouver Island. Karens work has been featured in several solo shows on Vancouver Island and Vancouver, as well as numerous goup and juried exhibitions in Canada and the USA.Her use of materials is strongly influenced by her background in printmaking. Scraping, incision, embossing, and the use of pattern all contribute to rich, tactile mixed media pieces.
