I am a retiree who is in my late 70s. My childhood dream was to be an artist, so I received very basic art education. When I turned fifty years old, I asked myself what I would enjoy doing during retirement, and I chose Chinese painting and calligraphy. As a result, I pursued the Chinese painting and calligraphy diploma from the Hong Kong University School of Professional and Continued Education program and graduated with distinction in 2002. The course’s subject matter includes landscape, animals, and flowers. I love gardening, nature, and traveling. I planted many kinds of flowers, trees, and shrubs in our garden, and they turned into my still-life painting subjects. I particularly enjoy observing and painting the plants’ growing cycles. Travelling allows me to document scenic landscapes worldwide. The countries I painted include China, Europe, the United States, and Japan. During the Lunar New Year of 2023, I painted peach blossoms, narcissus, chrysanthemum, peony, orchid, and camellia. These paintings are my daily journals, I hope you enjoyed them!
