Born in 1976, Amir Shadzi left his native Isfahan for France at nine and grew up in Paris.
A self-taught man, he naturally chose painting as the best media to convey his double identity. Resting essentially on chilhood memories, his work soon led him to imagine a painting combining the soft curves of the East and the rigid frames of the West.
Defending the concept of a "neo-orientalism", Amir Shadzi thus elaborates a certain vision of the city.
