Kristin Mcgraw

Kristin McGraw is a contemporary figurative painter born and raised in the Midwest. She studied Fine Art at the American Academy of Art following her interest in painting and now works from her studio just outside of Chicago.

Kristin’s works primarily in oil paint and acknowledging the medium and the act of painting, mark making, and repetition plays a large part in her pieces. Vast, seemingly empty spaces contrast densely rendered figures and patterns.

Much of the artist’s work revolves around exploring the cyclical relationship between human beings and the symbols and rituals they create as well as the dynamic tension inherent in holding dichotomies.

Kristin has been exhibiting her paintings nationwide since 2010, with several pieces in private collections.
