Ian Busher

Born in Toronto, I began my art training at the Ontario College of Art at 19. My education was short lived however, when faced with mounting debt. I made the difficult decision to quit school and begin working. My separation from art was short lived. As a carpenter I found myself in urban and industrial landscapes of decay and neglect that I felt compelled to capture with cameras. My subjects are always movement in colour, shape, form and texture first. I use abstract images, uniquely mounted and covered in resin or acrylic, to create works that have a distinct painterly quality enticing viewers to take a second look at both the format and the subject matter.
