Sarah Savage

I am an artist currently living in Western Washington. I began painting when I was in high school and later I went on to study art at The Evergreen State College. While in college I took a black and white 35mm photography program and it changed how I saw the world. I learned to look for light, contrast, texture, and shadows. I went on to focus on acrylic painting and those values were and are my main inspirations. When I graduated from Evergreen with a BA I went into retail and did visual merchandising for many years. Now I am painting and creating full-time.

Painting is a way for me to understand the act of creation and imagination. My emotions and memories flow as I create marks. Through that process, I learn how to better interpret my world. I hope that my paintings will resonate with the viewer and provide a greater sense of connection.

When I am not painting I am outside finding inspiration and going on adventures with my husband and our 2 crazy dogs.
