Ellen Gibson

I use complex simplicity to show feeling in my paintings. Emotions are very simple things. Love, sadness, joy, contentment and dreams are all emotions that we have. In that way, these are the same in us all. And yet they are complex in that humanity feels and lives these emotions in different ways. And it is through my work that I wish to express that.
Although at the initial glance, my work can appear to be simple. The more you look at it, you see the complexity of it all.
It is my desire to pass this on to others.
