Myza Matteo

Myza is a Brazilian visual artist based in Curitiba. Her paintings exist at the intersection of abstraction and figuration — large-scale works built from acrylic, spray, oil pastel, and collage, where handwritten poetry is not added to the image but is inseparable from it.
She works anonymously by choice. What reaches you first is always the work itself.
Her paintings carry the weight of interior states made visible: contradiction, endurance, the body navigating what the mind hasn't resolved yet. The poetry written across her canvases is her own.

Studied graphic design, then pursued a graduate degree in cinema. Works as a screenwriter. Paints anyway — because some things can only be said in paint, and some poems only exist when they are also brushstrokes.
