Daniel Bencs

I spend a lot of time making sketches - both drawings & with paint - after experiencing the scenery and nature. This is mostly created during my travels, only after leaving my comfort zone. In my paintings, I combine embryonic sketches with textiles of various patterns and materials.

I collect motifs from this sphere we call reality, and depict or meld them with their counterparts existing in other dimensions. The boundary between real and unreal becomes blurred. Thus, a tulip from the garden becomes a part of a flower-patterned surface. The ornamentation and the real plant will create a bouquet in the end, each responsible for the scent.
