It has been real joy to work on this painting. Inspired by a photo I took 10 years ago of my daughter Liva. Since then I had visualized all kinds of paintings I would do of her. Finally in 2021 was the right time and the right place. I had a very curious state of mind through the whole painting proc...

I draw since I was half a year old. I capture moments and details which show the fragility of the world, they tell a story and ask the observer to stop and appreciate nature, relationships, and life. By exploring details I reveal the whole universe in a small fragment. More detailed and intricate levels of my work reveal to an unhurried observer, who is bringing it to a whole new level. My art comes from where I am emotionally. The creative process is a meditation for me where I feel most natural and real, where I can dream and search for answers to the most important questions. Associative, subjective, in a way narrative and eternally unfinished nature of art, is what interests me most. I could say that art has chosen me instead of I have chosen it. I always have a vision in my head, but then in the process of creation beautiful transformations and variations happen. And when they meet the vision the magic happens. There is a pure beauty in this process of creation. I believe that art makes a huge difference in this world and I feel blessed to be part of it. I participate in group and solo exhibitions since Janis Rozentals School of Fine Art back in 1990 with oil, mixed media and acrylic paintings, drawings, illustrations and photographs. But there have been years when I worked as curator and did not create art that much. I hold two Masters of Arts (Art Academy of Latvia, 2013, and Latvian Academy of Culture, 2002) and the European Diploma in Cultural Project Management. Member of the Latvian Union of Artists. Many years I have worked as an art manager and curator, but since 2016 I am a freelance artist and illustrator.
