Gordon Johnson

Contemporary Pop Caricature Art is the defining movement behind the art of Gordon Johnson.


Gordon attended Memphis College of Art in the early 2000’s and received a BFA from the Brooks Institute of Photography in 2007.
After finishing school and having multiple traumatic life events happen, Gordon stopped his art making for 12 years until receiving a recent closure which brought him back to his craft.
Since beginning again in 2019, Gordon has been accepted to an Artist Residency in France which he will be attending in May of 2020. He has also been awarded a grant to help offset some of the costs of the residency.
Gordon has turned from Photography as his main medium to mostly Painting, Oil Pastel and Mixed Media.
Currently working on statements geared towards gallery exhibitions, Gordon is an upcoming artist in the Memphis, TN area with a not so normal vibe. He is already showing in multiple galleries around the Memphis, TN area and is looking to expand his customer base.
Recent topics Gordon has and is undertaking are Technology Addiction, Paramedic PTSD and suicide due to events and hours worked in 911, and Social Anxiety.
