Sebastian Edmonds

Working in varied media, such as oil on canvas and on wood panel, with an introduction of collage and photography. Early images are concerned with nature and natural forms, inspired by experiences absorbed while traveling in various countries, in particular; Spain and USA (Atlanta and New York).

Recent works use mixed media, e.g. resin and timbers. The works involve a continuous progression concerning the concept of capturing energy within the mark making process.

The intense style of painting which is characterized in earlier landscape-based work, now has given way to a more symbolic plane. This approach to painting serves to heighten the intimacy placed in the work and introduces a different perspective to the work.
