Ruveyda Gormezoglu

I was born in Istanbul in 1990 and graduated from Beykent University’s Architecture Department in 2013. The disciplined and aesthetic nature of architecture deepened my interest in and passion for art. Over the years, I have worked in various sectors, experiencing the different colors and textures of life. However, the love for art and geometry that blossomed within me since childhood always called me to follow my own path.

In 2021, I embarked on a new journey into the depths of art by taking a course on Islamic geometric patterns from Serap Ekizler Sönmez. Learning about the rich geometric patterns of Islamic art broadened my artistic vision. In 2022, I reached a significant turning point in my artistic journey through painting lessons with artist Cemal Toy.

The training I received from Cemal Toy strengthened my commitment to the art of painting and allowed me to explore various painting techniques. Each technique enabled me to diversify my artistic skills. By grasping the rhythm between colors and lines, I developed my ability to express myself in my works. I focused on architectural structures, ancient cities, monumental gates, and door forms, reflecting these forms onto abstract backgrounds in my works.
