Tomas Rys

I come from a mountainous region in the northeast of the Czech Republic. I was drawn to visual arts from an early age. But my puberty was quite stormy and life played with me in different ways. It took me another two decades to discover that the main thing that really fulfills me is visual art. One probably needs to experience crises in order to understand what one's mission is. I enjoy bringing a drop of psychedelia into things, that's why I like the boundary between reality and abstraction. Inspiration can come from anywhere - a photo from a trip, a visit to a restaurant, a walk through the center of Prague or the botanical garden in the neighborhood where I live. I paint with acrylic and oil, I often combine them. I am also slowly discovering the magic of watercolor.
