In the field of ceramics, I am particularly interested in porcelain. I have been working with this material for over 20 years.
I use it partially or completely unglazed in order to bring out the haptic beauty of bisque porcelain.
One property of porcelain that particularly fascinates me is its translucency. To emphasize this, I have specialized in turning wafer-thin walls. I strive for a nature-based aesthetic in my work. In terms of feel, form and surface. I sometimes work with natural materials and the result is an object that could itself be a natural living being, not manufactured but grown.
I have been a master ceramist since 1997.
From 1998 to 2001 I studied “Fine Art Ceramics” in Höhr-Grenzhausen (FH Koblenz).
Since 2002 I have been working as a freelancer in my own studio near Rostock (Germany).
