Sheona Hamilton-Grant

Scottish artist Sheona Hamilton-Grant is an established artist living and working in Bonn, Germany. She grew up in Europe (Holland, France & Belgium), studied in Brussels, Madrid, and London, lived in Belgium, Britain, Germany, France, Holland, Sweden, and the USA. She is fluent in 3 languages.
Having had the opportunity of growing up in a modern-day Europe where languages, lifestyle, and numerous customs all come together, Sheona benefited from a life of change, excitement, constant learning, and …horses. Being self-taught, all these have strongly influenced her work.
Her art is her anchor and has been throughout the whirlwind of her adult life. Maintaining integrity, keeping things clean-cut, black & white, and showing a need for detail throughout. Touched by motherhood and recently by loss, her art has matured showing yet more conviction, becoming just a little more resolute. Subtle layering of contrasts, sharp composition, and intuitive moods are exquisitely balanced between the traditional and the new while reflecting deep-rooted respect and regard for the natural world.
