I have lived close to the sea all my life. Coastlines are important to me and for as long as I can remember it was never more than half an hour away. Lakes and rivers are a constant in my life also. I could never see myself move too far away from them. Even now, although I’m embedded in a beautiful landscape of Headford. It’s on the northern east edge of Lough Corrib, Salthill, Galway city is to the south, Connemara to the west and Lough Mask to the west. On the east there are beautiful green lands.
So, it is easy to paint a waterscape (be it lough or sea) overhung by a vibrant emotional skyscape.
Each season brings with it the changing colours, tones and shapes for me to paint. I am self-taught and have been painting since primary school and now paint full time in my studio.
I love painting my local areas, inspired by the sea, mountains and fields that surround me.
Birds, pets, and wildlife are also a favourite of mine and I continue to try new things all the time. I love using watercolours, oils, acrylics and ink.
My art is in private collections around the world.
