María Cecilia Picca, a resident of Río Ceballos, Córdoba, Argentina, holds a solid academic background from the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, where she graduated in Painting. Throughout her career, she has received notable awards and recognition, including the University Prize with Honorable Mention for Academic Merit. Her journey includes a training scholarship and a loan granted by the National Arts Fund to integrate technological and pictorial aspects into a collaborative project with Engineer Juan Manuel Moreno. She has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions and biennials, standing out with the Second Accésit in the V Mario Saslovsky International Painting Prize and her involvement in the 111th National Salon Palais de Glace of Visual Arts in 2023, among other accomplishments. Additionally, she has been selected for the Río Negro International Biennial, the Andreani Foundation Award, the UADE Prize, and the B-Arte Prize at LABITCONF. Her work has been exhibited in both solo and group shows at prestigious spaces such as the Museum of Contemporary Art MACU, the Women's Museum, and the Ferreyra Palace in Córdoba. Her participation in national salons, such as the National Painting Salon Bancor, and international events like Arteamericas and Art Bo, reflect the diversity and breadth of her work. With over 140 pieces to her name, Picca continues to explore and rethink painting, its materiality, and interstitial spaces through the Bordes project (2012-2024), which evolves into ENTRE, where the dialogue between the manual, the technological, and the yet-to-be-discovered continues to inspire new creations.
