Stephen Nova

I am a full time artist currently living and working in Australia. An important aspect of my early development as an artist which includes my fine art degree, was undertaking the course in Museum Studies at Edith Cowan University in Perth Western Australia. The training and discourse has continued to inform and contextualize the development and direction of my work. In 2014 I participated in an artist residency with Sincresis D’A Spazio D’Arte located in the city of Empoli, Italy. The practice led research focused on the education of the architectonic and artistic heritage of the city. Working with the residency program and in association with the MuVe Museo Del Vetro my work explored the themes, Art, Society and Transformation which provided the framework for my project to investigate questions and key concepts of the ‘architectural imaginary’ as a vehicle to interact and interpret culturally important industrial sites in the area.
