I am a 63-year-old male artist, living and working in Western Australia, where I also serve as a primary school teacher. My art is an extension of my lifelong fascination with the human form and the stories we tell through our bodies, our expressions, and our movements. I work primarily in acrylics on canvas, using vibrant colors and dynamic compositions to capture the essence of the figures that populate my work.
For me, figurative art is a way to explore the complexities of the human experience. Each figure I paint represents a fragment of life—a gesture, an emotion, a memory—and I strive to infuse each piece with energy and presence. While my work is rooted in the human form, it is not merely about likeness; it’s about conveying the deeper truths that resonate through our shared experiences.
As a teacher, I am continually inspired by the young minds I interact with.
