Daidi Hu

Daidi Hu was born in Taipei, Taiwan and did her degree in Visual Communication at Academy of Fine Art in Munich, Germany in 2005. She spent some years traveling and working between Germany, India, Thailand and Taiwan.

In 2011 she moved back to Taiwan and settled down in Hualien which is situated in the east coast of the island. In recent exhibitions she was drawn to use natural mediums such as coffee residues as her main painting material. The ethereal impressions of some of these works allude to the hazy atmospheres of classical Chinese landscape painting. More recently she has taken a mixed media approach integrating asemic writing into her praxis.
