Lorella Fabro

I have close ties to the pictorial tradition of Venice and the Veneto region. I have little in common with the sirens of the contemporary scene and I follow the path of analytical painting, looking into the experiences of the past for the knowledge required to conduct personal research in the figurative realm. I studied ancient painting techniques in depth, (as the making of colours from natural components). I gained more experience at the Ca’ Rezzonico Museum, whereI made a number of copies from original paintings. I depict female figures, nature and landscapes. In my most recent artworks,
I focused on Venice and “portrayed” its movements and allure in the evening and night-time. It is an enchanted city of shadows and dazzling lights, gold and silver, reflections and ruggedness that reinvents itself and offers fresh emotions. I have displayed my works in Veneto and a number of Italian cities. I live and work in Venice, Italy

Born in Venice, I have completed my artistic studies among the State Institute of Art and the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, in the painting course of Maestro Emilio Vedova.
During the eighties I moved to Milan where I dedicate my interest in design and graphic within the textile sector.
Later on, back to Venice, I continued to attend painting studies under the guidance of Maestro Luciano Zarotti, teacher at the Academy of fine arts.
For a period of time frequented the 18th century Venetian museum Cà Rezzonico where I obtained the permission from the director to carry out some copies from the original paintings.
I attended the Free School of Nude (at Venice Academy of fine Arts).
