Ana & Marko Havlini are self-taught emerging painters from Belgrade, Serbia. We have formal education and degrees in Architecture & Urban planning, but our main interest is painting.Together we make up Havlini - lifelong artist duo. Our style is characterised by predominantly large-scale, freely-scribbled, calligraphic and graffiti-like works on solid fields of mostly gray, tan, or off-white colors, nowadays changing the palette to a more vibrant one.Our paintings often combine abstract and figurative elements and due to the size, weight and depth of works, they are often given sculptural properties. Our goal is to bring to the fore the foundations of meanings, emotions or narratives. Our paintings feature similar visual signs that form new conceptual units in space, that open up new perspectives and encourage dialogue. Our view of the final part revolves around a (harmonious) attitude towards space, possibly a very clear and brutal concrete area in all the seriousness of "beauty in silence".
