Abu Mutaka

I am a Ghanaian artist born in Koforidua, where I began drawing at age six as a way to navigate life in a bustling slum. Encouraged by my teacher-parents, I pursued my passion through formal training, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Art from the University of Education, Winneba. Since 2014, I have combined teaching with my practice as a visual artist, creating works that challenge narratives and spark new consciousness about Africa. Currently based in a rural high school, I continue to inspire through both education and art
