Ana Lucia Duran

Color and nature are my greatest inspiration. I definitely believe that colors influence our mood and that together with nature, they represent the rhythm of life. I like to use shining colors in my art pieces, and that is why I use sequins, which add a festive touch because life, regardless of the circumstances, must be celebrated every instant.

El color y la naturaleza son mi mayor inspiración, definitivamente creo que los colores influyen en nuestro estado de ánimo y junto a la naturaleza representan el ritmo de la vida. Me gusta que los colores que le pongo a mis obras brillen y por eso acudo a las lentejuelas pues considero que le dan un encanto festivo. La vida, sin importar las circunstancias hay que celebrarla a cada instante.

Since childhood Ana Lucia Duran has experimented with textures and color, fascinated by what they represent in her life. However, following the paradigms of traditional professions, she graduated in 2002 from University of La Sabana with a B.A in Hospitality Management. For a period of 18 years she devoted herself to this profession without neglecting her passion for art. After becoming a mother, however, she finally decided to dedicate herself to what she really loved: being an artist. As of 2018, she takes classes in the workshop of the artist Carolina Rodríguez Romero, and dedicates herself completely to this profession. The artist lives and works in Bogotá, Colombia.

Ana Lucía Durán desde niña experimentó con las texturas y el color, fascinada por lo que estas representaban en su vida. Sin embargo, siguiendo los paradigmas de profesiones se graduó en el año 2002 del programa de Administración de Instituciónes de Servicio de la Universidad de la Sabana. Por un periodo de 18 años se dedicó a ejercer esta profesión sin dejar de lado su pasión por el arte; sin embargo, después de ser mamá decidió que debía dedicarse a lo que realmente le apasionaba: ser artista.
