Contemporary painter and print-artist Miriam Lobo discovered the art of painting and printmaking in Barcelona, where she lived for 5 years. Lobo took a detour from her academic training and career in neuro-psychology to pursue her new-found calling.
Now based in Brighton, her work is inspired by landscapes across Sussex and the South Downs. Themes of landscape, abstraction, colour and repetition pervade her work, making both paintings and prints full of energy and emotion. Having recently graduated with a Diploma in Art and having had some training at the Slade Art School as a undergraduate, Lobo has decided to focus on her passion for paint and printing.
Lobo has already received large-scale commissions for corporate spaces and also has a series of retro prints available at Artrepublic.
Inspired by the Abstract Expressionist and Pop Art greats of the 1950s and 60s - including Mark Rothko, Robert Rauschenberg, Howard Hogkins, John Holland and Andy Warhol.
and now has a range of oil paints and prints for sale.
Lobo is starting to exhibit her work and and commissions can be requested through this site.
