As a trained Art Therapist, I subscribe to the healing characteristics of art and how art practice can give voice and clarity to contemporary issues.
With the intrusion of the twenty-four-hour news cycle and social media in people’s lives, My art practice is increasingly informed by local and world events around the environment, politics and women’s issues, where there is a sense that reports being widely distributed are fluid, chancy, uncertain and lack balance. My response is to create patchworks of protests to unpack and examine what I see and hear.
I constantly experimenting with different medium but find that I am increasingly drawn to ceramics, collage and painting to produce my contemporary works.
