Virginia Jones

1945,Baltimore, Maryland, USA.I live in Uruguay since 1947 because my father was a Uruguayan Architect, I also lived in Chile and Afghanistan. My inspiration has always been the human body and its relation with light and movement. I work sometimes based on famous paintings, like Manet´s Olympia, it makes me feel a very special joy moving those wonderfull paintings as I wish.

I studied arquitecture in Uruguay and Art School in Chile. Drawing in Kabuls Art University and many years with different Art teachers in Uruguay.My lately exhibitions were in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 2007, and in Centro Cultural Borges, in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2008.,I,m a partener in an Art Gallery in La Barra, Punta del Este, where I show my work.
