Yvonne is of Dutch Indonesian Ancestry - her great great uncle was Jan Toorop, the first Dutch Symbolist, Impressionist and Art Nouveau Painter. Yvonne has always been in the arts having been an opera singer, model and actress in her younger years. She is now a full time artist.
She recently exhibited at the prestigious Nagornaya Moscow State Art Gallery in an exhibition entitled Passion for Africa.
She won 2nd place in the South Africa Nivea Art Awards in 2007.
Her painting "Three Faces of Mandela" was commissioned for the re-opening of Mandela House in Soweto.
Her paintings are in private collections in Dubai, Hong Kong, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, France, New Zealand, UK, USA, Korea and South Africa.
She loves painting for the sheer joy of it. Her subjects are mainly African themed. Some of her more recent works have been inspired by Klimt . Her painting "Lady with Pots" was recently featured in Saatchi's Collection "Inspired by Gustav Klimt.
