ARTIST STATEMENT:
My work aims to create an emotional experience for the viewer that surpasses the mere visual, and in that sense is related to abstract expressionism.
I try to create a feeling of alliance through the materiality of the painting.
Matter is intimately related to time. Everything is a product of evolution. We are made up of molecules, but we are also made up of time – time is a raw material. Through a confrontation with the depths of matter I want to connect the viewer with deep time, a timescale that goes back to the very beginning.
