I am Wondeuk Cho(1991-birth), an artist based in South Korea.
I create works that depict and interpret scenes from landscapes I have personally observed while living in Korea.
My work aims to offer a new interpretation of spaces that are both uniquely Korean and deeply personal, as I strive to create a complete and introspective realm of my own.
Below is a text that organizes my thoughts as an artist. Thank you.

"Mountains embody an unwavering solidity amidst infinite changes, a paradoxical nature that fascinates me about ordinary, everyday natural spaces. They steadfastly maintain their position and form, shaped over centuries. However, within their depths lie countless entities constantly born, dying, moving, and transforming, creating myriad narratives.
My goal is to observe landscapes authentically and create tranquil, liberating spaces. Though my process is repetitive and labor-intensive, it allows for moments of self-cultivation, filtering through 'self' to craft new natural environments. This pursuit seeks to establish a space where freedom and unrestricted existence are paramount."
