Visual artist committed to well-being and transmission
Based in Paris, Houdayer creates unique artworks for the decoration of corporate, healthcare, and hospitality spaces. Houdayer collaborates in France and internationally with agencies, artists, designers, publishers, and galleries.
Some of his works are archived at the Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF) and are published in the press and by various institutions through the agency Voz’Image.
Bruno Houdayer defines himself as a visual creator. Photography is his medium, but he approaches and practices it in a fine-art (plastic) way, aiming to “reveal a suspended form of photography, between figuration and abstraction… He uses it as a raw material, in a continuous process of observation and research into light, texture, and the composition of his images.”
By blurring the boundaries of the real image—enhancing colors, strengthening graphic lines, and introducing softness and blur—he seeks to share his vision with the viewer and “establish a strong yet soothing vital resonance between images and spectators.” Each photograph becomes an opportunity to question the image itself, its essence, function, and message.
He conceives his art as a three-way exchange: a sharing between...
Experience and Background
Involved in visual creation for 20 years. After training in international commerce, Bruno Houdayer soon realized that creative work particularly inspired him, whether in merchandising or in the direction of corporate audiovisual projects.
He began his artistic career as an apprentice, working in the field of decoration, assisting Véronique Delacour of the Alvérone agency in the creation of luxury window displays, and Pierre Euzen in events management.
He learned the techniques of still photography by working alongside two photographers: Jean-Charles Recht (cosmetics and perfumes) and Stefan Kraus (luxury hotels).
This mastery of photographic tools paved the way for his own artistic career.
Since 2007, he has been a freelance author-photographer. In addition to his personal work, he specializes in art, decoration and design. He produces photographic reproductions of the creations and works of artists and craftsmen, as well as their portraits.
