RECOGNITION

Working mostly in acrylic paint on canvas, I make minimal compositions with sprinklings of high contrast patterns and color. My process is a repetition of addition and subtraction, pedaling between the abstract and figurative.
Inspired by the rigid lines of Agnes Martin and organic forms of Eva Hesse, I also adore fantasy films, surrealism, brutalist architecture and a really smooth gradient.
Based out of a poorly heated–yet cozy attic studio bordering the icy waters of Northern Europe.

Master of Arts:
Universität der Künste, Berlin, Germany.

Bachelor of Fine Arts:
Pacific Northwest College of Art, Portland, USA.

Residency Fellowships:
National Center for Contemporary Arts, St. Petersburg Russia.
Vermont Studio Center, Johnson VT, USA.

My work has shown internationally, including: Kunstraum Kreuzberg Berlin, Tiny Creatures Los Angeles, the National Centre for Contemporary Arts State Museum St. Petersburg. Most recent exhibition was completely virtual: Flora | Fauna hosted by Tez1and. My work has been featured in Art Review, Art Kunstmagazin and is held in the collections of MOMA Art Library and MACBA Barcelona.
