Leila Refahi

Leila Refahi is an artist, researcher, and educator, based in Toronto, Canada. She uses painting, installation, and digital media to create participatory and social engagement art experiences. In her works, she mainly focuses on environmental issues and climate justice.
She has presented five solo exhibitions in Canada, Iran, and Finland and has participated in more than 60 national and international group exhibitions and festivals. Her participatory projects have been staged in Canada, Iran, Germany and Finland. Refahi has also received numerous awards throughout my professional career, including the Newcomer Mentorship Award by the Toronto Arts Council, the Newcomer Space Award and RBC Newcomer Arts Award presented by the Toronto Arts Foundation, Artvolt Mentorship Award, Bourse Concordia-CCGV, Concordia Graduate Students Entrance Award, Malakta Factory Art Residency, finalist of Golden Turtle Festival (2017,) finalist of Pars Online Festival.
