Ulrika Walmark

Born 1970 in Uppsala, Sweden.
Ulrika Walmark began her career in 1995 when she landed a job as assistant to advertising photographer Hans Jonsson. She also made her own photo assignments for magazines and newspapers. 1998 to 1999 she was a staff photographer at one of Sweden's biggest daily newspapers Sydsvenska Dagbladet. In the year 2000 she moved to New York where she did freelance work. Back in Sweden a year later she continued to work as a freelance photographer and also started doing her own art projects. 2003 to 2007, she traveled all over the North America, Israel, Palestine, Iran, India and South Africa collecting portraits for her project The person behind the person. Ulrika Walmark lives in Berlin.
