My first introduction to art was when I moved as a child to South Beach, Florida where my grandmother was, among many things, an artist. This was the early sixties and I was fascinated by my bohemian and very political Grandma. The intriguing scent of oil paints in her small artsy apartment has guided me so many years later to painting with oils myself. The afternoons that I spent exploring her photo albums crazy with so many pictures of herself, her friends and family during the tumultuous yet glorious eras of the forties, fifties and sixties penetrated my soul.
So in these paintings I render homage to Evelyn and dedicate my 'Sepia Series'.
