“Ashes to Ashes,” The first of a two-painting collection, “Ashes to Ashes,” where the bare, burnt branches could be those of an ancient warrior, arms reaching out in defeat. My first serious art class was the summer after I graduated High School, at the Rochester Institute of Technology. My art training continued at Monticello Junior College, in Godfrey, Illinois, where I took art & sculpting classes. It was here that I studied under Newell Hillis Arnold, who remains to this day one of my greatest artistic influences. It was Mr. Arnold who taught me how to see & create in a 3-dimensional depth of field. Art classes continued at the University of Miami, where I received my bachelor's degree. I then attended Florida International University, where I studied Landscape Architecture, and proceeded to work as a Landscape Architect with the incredible architect Adonay Bergamaschi. Now my preferred mediums are Watercolor & Gouache, and my favorite subjects to paint are beaches & animals.
