Eduards Kapsha

Born in Auce on November 6, 1957.
I started to become acquainted with photo at the time when Europe was divided into two camps. We were separated not only by closed borders,but also by lack of information. All kinds of artistic expression, including professional activities of photographers, were controlled by the regime. In my motherland, at that time, art spoke in subtexts.

The world of cinema was the reason I started taking pictures myself. "Mirror" by Andrei Tarkovsky, "The Red Snowball Tree" by Vasily Shukshin and films by Alexander Sokurov impressed me.

I have my own photo studio, I work professionally. I take part in international competitions . Towards the title of Efiap I have received awards and the award I value the most is the gold medal in Trierenberg photo art contest in 2021.
Victory in the Monovision awards photo contest in the nude photo category: "Les Miserables" in 2022 and second place in the Fine Art Awards photo contest with the photo "The dark side of painting"

Studied at Auce secondary school and Ogre Art school.
1978 – after the service in the Soviet army starts working as an apprentice photographer in Jelgava consumer service establishment.
