Andrea Bonaccorsi

ENG: I was born in Catania in 1985 and I live in Pedara, a town on the slopes of the Etna volcano.
I followed scientific studies graduating in 2016 in Building Engineering-Architecture, today I am an engineer with a passion for visual art and music.
My artistic work initially focuses on digital art and glitch art, with works that directly denounce the use of information technology. With the same common thread in mind, I explored various techniques, from watercolor to acrylic, reaching the processing of ceramics and majolica lava stone. This last material has allowed me to pursue the study of my figurative canons while maintaining a strong link with the territory.
The result of this experimentation is a plastic product that has characteristics similar to an image built with digital devices, through the use of "marbling" on fresh enamel, a technique that allows for effects similar to pixel sorting and datamoshing.
At the same time, ceramic sculpture has allowed me to shape works that can be traced back to digital modeling, with a strong reference to post-humanism.
