1)The work of James Gwynne is represented in many private, corporate and public collections including the New Jersey State Museum and Pennsylvania State Museum.
Now, Gwynne can add the Governor’s mansion to that ever-growing list of places where his work is displayed.
Pennsylvania First Lady Frances Donnelly Wolf has selected an oil painting by Gwynne to become part of the artwork on display at the Governor’s residence, a Georgian style mansion that sits along the Susquehanna River in Harrisburg, PA
The painting is "Sunset with Telephone Pole", oil on canvas, 70"x 75".
2) James Gwynne will have his artwork displayed at the State Museum of Pennsylvania this summer at the 49th Annual “Art of the State: Pennsylvania 2016” exhibit.
A very selective process was used to determine what pieces would be included in the exhibit. Of the 1,800 statewide submissions only 124, about 7 percent, of the submissions, were chosen including two from James Gwynne entitled “Kiss” and “Telephone Pole with Fog”.
The exhibition runs through September 11 with an opening reception on June 26 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The reception is open to the public and general admission that day is waived for museum visitors. The State Museum of Pennsylvania is lo...
