I live and work in South Korea.




There was a time when I started to think that the world was so beautiful that it made me cry. It must have been when I was an undergraduate in college. I wanted to draw that kind of world. I have been drawing in earnest since that day.

There is definitely a real world that we cannot see with our eyes. Most of them are abstract nouns. Love, painful memories, inexpressible joy... I try to convey the aesthetic insight I gain by looking into our inner emotions and thoughts in a formative way.

At some point, I discovered myself pursuing “simplicity, profundity, and beauty.” Is it because I not only want my life, my thoughts, and my work to be free of unnecessary elements, but also to become condensed beauty itself? So I naturally started doing abstract work. I do not limit the materials and medium I use, and I take on any materials and medium that help me express myself with interest. This is all the story of the “origin” that I explore.

To me, works are like a breeze that stays for a while and then passes away. When I look at my past works, I recall the passion and worries of the time as if I were looking through an old diary. Each and every work is special, but I try not to get attached to it.
