Sam Rolfes

Multi-format-mixed-media visual artist, unconventional graphic designer, experimental electronic musician and sound artist, turntablist/DJ, event promoter, and founder/art director of the Austin and Chicago-based art and music collective, Join The Studio.

Feverishly active in a myriad of experimental music scenes and cross-format art projects in the roles of creator, curator, and promoter, Rolfes has worked tirelessly to unite disparate practices and personalities within Chicago and Austin in striking, unconventional collaborations.

BFA in 2012 from the School of The Art Institute of Chicago, and collaborator/assistant to the infamous Chicago painter Wesley Kimler in his cavernous warehouse studio.
