Dipa Mahbuba Yasmin

Dipa Mahbuba Yasmin (Born 1st Nov 1990, Dhaka, Bangladesh) is a multifaceted artist and activist who has embraced queer aesthetic activism as her life's mission. With a dynamic career that spans film direction, art curation, painting, sculpture, theater performance, and more, Dipa adapts her roles to the needs of the moment, always driven by a deep commitment to her community. Her work extends beyond creation; she also leads workshops and seminars, sharing her expertise and vision with others. A sought-after speaker, Dipa has presented at numerous international conferences, where she advocates for the intersection of aesthetic activism and highlighting the struggles of the queer community in countries where their identities are criminalized.

Dipa Mahbuba Yasmin received her BFA in ceramics from Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka. Yasmin thinks, she is a filmmaker comprised of a ceramicist. she has also found her calling in queer aesthetic activism.
